Tables and floating div (CSS) in IE

if I have a floating (CSS) div at the left and I put a table at the right with width="100%" it will try to expand to 100 % of the screen, as it doesn't fit, it will go under the menu and the div will be paded to the right since it can be paded to the left or it won't be padded at all, this in IE. Mozila and Konqueror renders it ok, any idea of how can I solve it ?
If I put a size in pixels that exceds what's on the screen in that resolution, it works the same way in IE.
    Thanks.

    Thumbs down Example

    This is an example:
    tableproblem.html
It has a bogus menu because the real one is made by javascript, it renders correctly in Mozilla and Konqueror, the table with widht="100%" (maybe I shouldn't do this and use CSS but I didn't found much information on applying CSS to talbes) pads to the 100% of the box where it is on Konqueror and Mandrake, in IE, it tries to pad to the 100% of the screen and it can't, so it goes below the menu (where it can't pad anyway).
    Thank you
