Simplest 3 column css layout possible?

I'm have done a site and used tables for the layout (3 column style) but have decided now if it's possible and not too complicated I could try and see if I could redo it using CSS, i'm totally new to css.

Could anyone here code a quick dirty example of the Simplest 3 column css layout possible? and i can sort of go from there and build on that?

I guess i'm going to have to accept that it will not display correctly in older NS browsers but as long as it renders readable i'm o.k, it's only a practice site so..

    Here are some examples:

Btw,you'll probably want to worry about how it will render in the latest Internet Explorer browser (because it sucks at CSS),instead of Netscape 4.x
