    Why does the css effects not show in Netscape 4xx

    I have the following stylesheet code, but it does not work in netscape 4.xx why?

    A:active {font-size: 10pt; color: black; text-decoration: none}
    A:hover {font-size: 10pt; color: black; text-decoration: underline}

    font.date{font-size: 10pt; color: #D5B684; font-family: tahoma}
    font.story{font-size: 7pt; font-family: tahoma}
    td {border-width:1}

    .menuskin{
    position:absolute;
    width:300px;
    background-color:7F7F7F ;
    border:1px solid black;
    font:normal 8px Tahoma white;
    line-height:18px;
    z-index:100;
    visibility:hidden;
    }

    .menuskin a{
    text-decoration:none;
    color:7F7F7F;
    padding-left:10px;
    padding-right:10px;
    }

    #mouseoverstyle{
    background-color:4F4F4F; text-decoration: none;
    }

    #mouseoverstyle a{
    color:white; text-decoration: none;
    }

    Thanks

    they are using JavaScript instead of CSS. have a look at the sources, you can easily tell.

    also, you probably want to have a look at the thread below here called "Developers' Hell" for more Netscape- and other Browser-specific stuff
