    Use of ">" in css syntax

    I have a vendor coding some .css for us and they are using ">" in their code...I'm not familar with the use of ">". Is this valid?

    Example:

    .rounded-corner-container2>.container-content{

    Is ">" valid and what does ">" do/mean?

    ">" is a selector for a direct descendant.

    ".rounded-corner-container2>.container-content" selects elements of class "container-content" which are an immediate child of elements with class "rounded-corner-container2"
