Access Field Help
I'm going to try and explain this as best as I can...
I have a form created which is based on a single table called Application Information which the primary key is AutAppID. Now, I have a text box at the top which has the data filled from the Application Information table and is sorted ascending by the AutAppID field. I want to use the text box to take user input (The user would enter an Application ID number) and it goes to that record and fills all the other fields on the form accordingly. It's basically re-inventing the find function. Why? Convenience basically, so they don't have to open anything else to simply search for a record. I think I've explained it as best I could... any questions please ask, I really want to make this work Brownie points to anyone who helps me out ![]() |

Are you wanting to know how to write the query or the access form?

Well, I've got the form created and I've got a query to do it. It's just how do you go about linking the two together?
How do you make the input that the user enters into that text field go to the query and return the fields requested? Is it possible to do it without opening a separate window/form? Or am I just trying to do something that access wasn't meant to do? I'm going to guess it would be the form then because I think that is what I need to modify. |
