Anyone know a good source to learn FOCUS from?
Hi, first time poster here. My office uses FOCUS for our database system and while I'm quite good at the basics of how to use it (give me x from y to z not includeing a, ect) I really need to learn quite a bit more for a new position I'm being folded into.
My problem is all the FOCUS techies have been useing it since at least the late 80's. So none of them have manuals anymore, besides my higher ups want me to learn the Windows based version rather than the DOS version everyone else uses.
I'm a journeyman code writer, it doesn't come easy to me and I'd never want to be in IT. But I can and do learn languages as needed. But everything else I've learned has had readily availibe help literature such as the Bible series or god forbid the last resort for Dummies drivel.
But now I'm stuck, no documentation, no help guides. I probably won't get the Windows based version for at least a week. But they're expecting me to produce more complex FOCUS jobs immediately. Oh and did I mention I'm not even getting a raise for this?
Any help anyone can direct me to would be much much appreciated. I feel like one of Ratbert's test subjects lately.
