basic database question

hi!!i am new to the field of databases and am working on a project which requires some technical knowledge.i want to develop some system wherein many users sit n surf the internet for market specific data.they also get lots of emails and urls(thru emails) which they use in future.i want to build a system which consists of a database where i can store all these html,email,txt,office docs as they are.in short the database should contain the files as it is.the users will later open them on their own n parse them for relevant data.for e.g. consider you are one of the end-user who has a lot of data in the form of html,office docs,txt files etc. u should be able to push these files into a well organized database from where later u as well as other users can pull out these files.i hope i am making clear what i am exactly looking for.it would be great if you suggest me a database which can carry complete files in an organized manner.if u have any clues about exisiting solutions to a simlilar problem please let me know.thanking you for your help.having access to all u brilliant people helps develop our thinking as well as motivates me to reach the level where u all are....thanks once again...
