database for computer equipement
Helo,
I would like to make a good data model for managing computer equipement in our company. Description of a problem: We have several typs of equipement (for example): computer: inventoryNo type (server, PC), Op.System(Windows,Linux,HP-UX-...) proccessor, RAM HD... printer: inventoryNO type1(laser, inkjet..) type2(B&W, color) .. scaner: inventoryNO, DPI . . . Do i have to make a special table for each tye of equipement? In that case I would have to change design for a new type of equipement (for example: network switch) I would need a form for a user to insert data for each equipement. Wahat kind of query would return me such result? What if there is only inventoryNO for searching? Is there any other way rather than searching each separate table?
