database vs MM Contribute?

database vs MM Contribute?

Opinions please. For a simple site that would store MS word documents, which would be better - to use Macromedia Contribute to place the documents directly onto the html, or to store them in a database (I have MySQL in mind), and bring them up dynamically using php. Our competitors are arguing the first case (no db, less cost), whilst we are arguing the second (costs more but has search funtionality. I have to meet with our clients tomorrow and give them some compelling reasons to use a database, and part with more loot!
Any suggestions?
