exporting data in MS Access

Hi guys,

I need to make an interface to export data to a text file using MS Access and VBA. The catch is that it has to be formatted to a certain spec (HL7). Is there any way to set up the exporting into certain text? here is an example of what an export should look like,

MSH|^~\&|ADT||NAME||20020701105029||ADT|ADT704803829|P|2.1|||
EVN|A18|20020701105029| PID|||G216188||GRIFF^TERI^J||19591121|M|||ADDRESS|||||||G007311467|555-92-0628|||
PV1||R|GRLC^^|||^^||^|^||||||||^|||||||||||||||||||||||||||200206211558||
MRG||||G328373

If you have any ideas, I would appreciate it! Thanks

Do you have access to the MS DTS tool for MS SQL server or a product called data junction?

Check the MSHUG website, they have some activex cocntrols that you can use to accomplish this task...

Check under the Actice X for HealthCare section

Btw good luck, HL7 is such a loose standard that getting two systems to work together is always a struggle...
