filter by form shows only "is null" or "is not null"
Hi
Hope someone can help here. I have a simple d/b with a mixture of text,number,date,yes/no fields. filter by form only gives "is null" or "is not null" instead of the list of values from the fields as choices. I can't work out why. Any Ideas anyone??? it appears that once I exceed 1000 records the values all vanish and all I get is the "is null" or "is not null" Is there a global setting in access that can be changed? Would you like to give a hint about what database, operating system and process you're using that is giving you this problem?

Hi Doug
Its access2000 (SP1) on a W2k (SP4) desktop. I have since found that by adding indexing to more fields I can then get the values to show for those fields. I have 6000+ records and had only a primary key based on an ID field (unique). Once it went over 1000 records the values disappeared from filter by form for all fields. I then tried indexing another field and the values for that field appeared. Maybe 1000 is a reasonable limit to the number of values that can be displayed in a list ?? I am now able to perform the task I wanted and I must thank you for your interest in my problem BobF |

There is a setting in Access 2000 that will limit the number of records displayed in a filter by form list, and the default value is 1000
Look in Tools - Options - Edit/Find to access this setting. |
