How to connect Filemaker database to Custom iPhone App

Hi,

Can somebody please answer these questions:

1: How do i host the Filemaker database on a server?
2: Once hosted how do i connect the Filemaker database to the custom iPhone App i am currently developing?
3:How do i pull data from the Filemaker database to the custom iPhone App?
4: Once the data has been pulled through to the custom App. How do i remove fields from the database which contain spaces or no data?
