how to count column in one row

how to count column in one row

My situation like this:

Table1
ID Col Col2 Col3.... Coln
.....
2 x null null .... xxx
....

Now I want to count how many Columns in one row havenot null values.
For the upper table row 2, the counter should return 2 to me.

Sorry, just a few questions: What database do you use? Are you using code to find this (ASP, VB, etc.), or would you like to do it through a querie?
