Operation must use apdateable query
I have two excel2003 files. I open one file in access(link) and establish link with the other file. I go for the update query in one linked file from another linked file. The excel file is not upted and message is returned as operation must use an updateable query.

Have you tried Googling for the result? I found thousands of pages describing the problem -- my query was / 'must use an updateable query' excel / -- it seems that people get this error for various reasons, but here's the one that seemed the most clear:
