Question Reports in Oracle..

sup, all. I need some advice please. Our company has an Oracle database right. The management folks want some reports to be done on that Oracle database. Can someone please list some report software that I can use for internal use, and also can be displayed on the web beside Crystal reports.

Thanks in advance.

I use DataDynamic's ActiveReports. Some reporting tools are designed for a particular platform. What kind of webserver are you using?

I assume you have both ODBC and JDBC available, right?

Here are a couple of links to check out:

Free -- http://datavision.sourceforge.net - it lets you create reports in "HTML, LaTeX2e, XML, DocBook, or tab- or comma-separated text files". The design capabilities are very basic, but hey it's free .

Commercial -- http://www.avman.net/ and http://www.quadbase.com/.

Take a look at www.businessobjects.com , even if it is expensive.
You can find also some good projects on Sourceforge.

Seeing as your company has been good enough to go and purchase Oracle (congrats), you might suggest that they look in to getting Oracle Discoverer. Basically it is Oracles version of crystal reports.

Check out Oracle's report server! Seamless integration and quite powerful. I use it to generate dynamic pdf files. Works very well for other things as well.
