SLQ Project Question?
I am working with a company that has written an accounting package. The older versions of the accounting software was written in VB using access database. The new version of the software will be written in VB with a SQL database. They have other customers running Microsoft SQL and MY-SQL. Which is the best development method for a business? To develop the MS-SQL and then port over or develop in a more open standard. Which is better and why?
Anyone out there run into issues like this? Sorry if I posted this is the wrong area but I thought this forum might be able to help. Tired of Fussing, CLHARI |

I'm curious what would be a "more open" standard than MS SQL Server. Of the databases you mentioned it's closest to full ANSI standard compliance.

I refer to "more open" standard as one that any SQL could be used.
