OK i currently have MS SQL server running on my PC. I have a fixed IP on the internet, and a subdomain pointing to that IP address.
When i try and connect SQL Query Analyser to my IP address it connects fine. However, when i try connecting to my subdomain, which is pointed at my IP, it fails to connect. Could this be a problem with my logins. I guess it sees me as connecting as localhost when i connect to my IP address directly, and an external entity when i connect through my sub domain? But i'm sure i've had this working before?? Any ideas? nooch--PS If it is the case that my login isn't suitable for external use, how can i set up a user to connect from a location not on my network? Or how would i enable the server to accept incomming requests from outside the network? Last edited by nooch : June 4th, 2003 at 08:27 PM. |

Have you got any options anywhere as to what IP address MS SQL server is listening to? (I dont use MS SQL but this is more networking related issue)
