    Hi,

Make sure the database is not being used by anyone else if on a network.

    3 things you can try

    1) Make sure the database is closed. Try to make a copy of the database. If you can't look in the directory containing the database for a file with the extension .ldb, if its there delete it. This should solve the problem.

    2) In Access close any database thats open. From the file menu select Open. Locate the offending database. Open it with the Open button. This may make no difference but it might work.

    3) Create a new blank database and Import all data and objects from the old database.

If all fail try looking on the www.microsoft.com knowledge base for an answer as well.

    Best of luck ...
    :-)

    A Nother Way

On the Tools menu, click Options.
    Click the Advanced tab.

Specify whether a Microsoft Access database opens in shared or exclusive mode by default

You can select shared or exclusive to be the default way of opening the database.
