Question AS400 DB2 Database

This may seem an elementary question, but here goes.
I'm using Crystal reports to connect to a DB2 data source
For some reason I'm getting an error 126 when trying to establish a connection to a DB2 file.

It's probably something I'm doing wrong with the file selection, but I'm unsure.

Would someone point me in the right direction to get information on connecting to a DB2 database through crystal or shed some light on what I may be doing wrong?

Thanks,
Robert

Does this "error 126" come with a text message explaining what is wrong in English? This might provide a clue that will allow us to help you find the problem.

Most people I know who have trouble connecting to DB2 haven't loaded DB2Connect onto their machines and set up connection. On the machine that you're connecting from, can you go to a DB2 command prompt and type:

CONNECT TO databasename USER userid USING password

If this doesn't work (or you don't have the ability to go to a DB2 command prompt) you probably don't have all the software loaded that you need.

Thank you for your help. I have IBM client access loaded on the system, but I'll load the DB2Connect and see if that helps.

The error message is

"ODBC error: Specified driver could not be loaded due to system error 126 (CR DB2)"

Let me know if you see anything else in this that I may need to do different.

Thanks again,
Robert
