DB2 Connection

I was successfully using UDB client version 7 to connect to our mainframe database via the command line and via a Sun 1 application server that's running on this same Windows xp machine . Then I was told I must upgrade to version 8 of the udb client. I uninstalled version 7, then installed version 8. My application server is still running fine, however, whenever I try to connect to the database via the command line tool or the connection test utility, it tells me my user ID is incorrect.

Well, the user ID it comes back with in the error message is the user ID I'm logged into the local machine with, not the mainframe user ID that I actually entered for the connection.

Can anyone help me figure out why it's trying to authenticate me with the logged on user ID opposed to the user ID I actually entered for the connection??

Any help would be appeciated!!!

just as a guess here but somewhere in your connection settings it is set to use windows authentication, disable this and you should be ok.

Thanks, Joe - I've looked in vein for a setting like that. Do you know specifically where to find that?

Unfortunately I don't currently have version 8, but I'd check out IBM's site.
