DB2 with Java or .NET?

I have an ERP to build and the back end is going to be db2.I'd like to know which one of Java or .NET would be best suited as development platform.
Please provide reasons for your recommendations.
If you recommend .NET, please specify the languages(visual c++,c#,visual Basic etc.) that'll be the best match.

If there is some more detail that you'd like to know, just ask for it.

Do you think .NET will always support other database servers as it does Microsoft's SQL server?

Thanks in advance.

I cannot speak for .NET, but DB2 will likely always have good support for Java since IBM is very strongly linked with Java. I would guess .NET will also probably have good support however. Your better off basing your decision on available developer resources (what do your devs know best?).

A new team is going to be hired for this project..NET developers are more readily available over here.
I tried goggling but couldn't find an answer specific to my question i.e. which one to go with, Java or .NET? .
however I have come across a few articles explaining new plug ins that db2 has introduced for .NET developers.Based on this information it is my guess that IBM intends to strengthen ties with the .NET framework.

DB2 has drivers (or whatever you call them) for .NET too. Your decision should be based on what you are comfortable with. As you say .NET developers are readily available, you should choose that.
