Not Able To Start The Db2
hi,
actually i installed FIXED PACK3 FOR db2 udb v8.1 on linux but before installation i have done this su - db2inst5 ( instance name) db2 force applications all db2 terminate db2stop db2licd -end # run at each physical node exit and su - db2das1 ( DAS owner name ) db2admin stop exit now after upgradation completed succesfully, i m not able to start the database, please help me to get out of this problem. DB2--> command db2start Error : db2start: Symbol `g_sqltCompTraceFlags' has different size in shared object, consider re-linking /home/db2inst5/sqllib/adm/db2star2: Symbol `g_sqltCompTraceFlags' has different size in shared object, consider re-linking SQL1072C The database manager resources are in an inconsistent state. DB2 may have been incorrectly terminated, or another application may be using system resources in a way which conflicts with DB2's use of system resources. System resource cleanup may be required. thanks Vivek |

Did the fixpack have any instructions about running the db2iupdt command after installation? Did you run this command if it did?

hay thanks,
No i have not done that, but now when i am trying to do that, getting the error DB21034E The command was processed as an SQL statement because it was not a valid Command Line Processor command. During SQL processing it returned: SQL1024N A database connection does not exist. SQLSTATE=08003 Thanks Vivek |

I'm not sure what this error is indicating (other than you can't connect). The instructions said you should run it as root. Did you run it as the instance owner instead? If you ran it as root, were your environment variables setup correctly?
I don't know if this is the solution. I'm just guessing because I don't have a clue. |
