Delphi 5 & Win8.1 x64
Have you guys tried to run D5 on a new Win8.1 x64 Pro? Any luck?
All I can get is frozen splash screen.. I was trying to install it in different locations, was giving all permissions and etc.
Any recommendation what I could do to fix it? Except stop using D5

If you mean by "Delphi 5" very old version of the program, then install it inside virtual machine with Windows 98. We used the same approach when developing under Delphi 6 with Windows 7.
And yes, stop using it is anyway better idea.

Yeap, vm is a good option. Btw Delphi 5 works fine with Win 7 x32. And I managed to run it on x64 too.

Running delphi 7 on win 7, win8 and win 8.1 (32 bit and 64 bit) without any problems.
Permission issues are resolved by granting yourself (the user profile using delphi) full read/write permissions within the Delphi folder (under Program files). (or running as admin - but this has other considerations).
If you are on an old delphi and can't migrate just yet - find the following two sets of tools to help:
1. Delphi Speedup (fixes random hanging / speed issues on win 7)
2. CN Pack - IDE enhancements
