good day Scorpions4ever. thanks for the response. i'm turbo c, c++, turbo pascal, vb... (skill level: errr medium grade? hahaha). delphi is not my first language... just got interested because we're taking it up now in class

Since you've worked with Turbo Pascal and VB, you're off to a pretty good start. Delphi's Form Designer works similar to VB (IMHO a lot better than VB actually, with a lot more components). The code syntax is a lot like Turbo Pascal, so you shouldn't have much trouble adapting to Delphi syntax.
As for good starting books, I've always thought Charlie Calvert's Delphi books are great for beginners. I don't think he has one out for Delphi 6 or 7, but most of the stuff he mentioned in his book for Delphi 4 still hold true for the later versions.

thanks for the info scoropions... as to the version... i'm still trying to decide which to install... 6 or 7... any differences? well aside from the version hehe
