problem with generic text printing

hi!

we are using delphi3 for a system at our office. one program uses a report that is printed using generic text. it works fine with windows 98, but when tried with windows xp, the font settings seemed to be ignored (e.g. specifiedcharacter widths are not followed). could anyone point us to a possible solution? ay help would be greatly apprecaiated.
