    variables

we have a variable that needs to be incremented everytime the programme is run, how do we keep a variables value after the program has finished. the variable is to keep track of how many times the program has been run. is there a special command for when the variable is declared?
    Cheers

You can store the variable somewhere in the Windows Registry, read and increment it when the application starts.
See Delphi help for Registry handling routines.

    Good luck,

dont think that will work, we will have to transfer the programme to work on lab computers which will have restrictions etc., what about storing the variable in a database? how do you read a variable integer from a database? is it read as a string?
    thanks for reply
