please help me. i need someone to explain me how to put a constant - an array of bytes - into a resource file (for D7), and then get that constant from the resource file when needed.

You can put the array of bytes content into an .rc file as RCDATA type, compile the .rc file into .res (using brcc32) and include the .res file in your Delphi 7 application. After that, you can load the content of the array using TResourceStream.
For more information on RCDATA, open MS SDK from your Delphi 7 IDE and look for RCDATA.

In Delphi 7 IDE, open menu Help > Window SDK, then look for RCDATA.

Newer version could be found in msdn site. Check this page. It's a little bit different, but just a little.
