    Easy legacy question

I'm a C++ programmer and have been asked to look at a Delphi project (circa 2000). I don't have Delphi and know nothing about it. The files are mainly .PAS & .DFM. Can anyone advise how I can start up a project?

In most Delphi versions, usually you just open menu File, highlight New, then select correct project type according to your need. Or select Others... when none of project types in the menu matches your need.

In case you meant how to open existing project, all you need to do is to open menu File, and select Open Projects... then browse to the folder where your project's source codes location. Double click the project source of your existing Delphi project.

    Opening a Delphi file...

You will need a version of Delphi (or Lazarus). Start the program, Choose File->Open, navigate to your source directory and select the project file. (*.DPR or *.DPROJ depending on the version of Delphi)
