Arena Client ++

I finally got around to updated my arena client since they reversed the order events are listed during battle. It looks like my last arena post was culled, so here's the new one. As usual, the zip file attached to this post includes all source code, a ready-to-use exe, and a setup file in case the exe doesn't work. .Net Framework 2.0 required.

If you're new to the Battle Arena, this program screen-scrapes the arena and presents it in a nicer format. Some of the main improvements over the web interface:

• Saves your captcha, so you don't have to enter a new one for each fight
• You don't have to scroll down to choose your next attack during battle
• Allows you to easily heal during battle, if you have the devs
• Will in most cases automatically withdraw the devs you need from the bank (eg, when shopping or healing).
• Specify a specific number of devs to use for healing, or a specific number of hitpoints to heal.
• Won't download any ads or images not included as part of the base html or not used by the arena itself, and caches bitmaps and static files so it should be more responsive.

The client won't let you do anything you couldn't already do through the web interface; it just makes a few things much easier.

You'll still need to use the web interface when battling another player rather than a bot, updating your character (changing race, class, gender, etc), viewing some details of the monsters, and checking some of the player lists (top players by experience, gold, etc).

Found a couple very minor bugs already (bad constant in arenaconstants.ini means that autologin won't work and I'm not converting the bold tags when you find money after a fight to actually show bold text), but I'm working on another improvement so I need to wait until it's finished to post the fixes.

Okay, the new version with the fix is just posted. Use the same link on the original post to download. The new feature is a combo box on the login page that lets you select which site to connect to. Right now I only have devshed, devhardware, asp free, and devarticles in the list, and what's available isn't entirely supported by the config file (adding the other sites will mean making simple changes to the code).
