This has got to be a first (for me at least!) - 3 'special' attacks, all hitting ...! And ... and, not a scratch back!

I've noticed that if a monster tries to defend, and you use your fists it won't be able to block you.

I don't mind the dying slap from the beasties we, after all, always get to go first and have had the one-hit kill option on the lower level ones (not a thing I am totally fond of) but that being a critical is a bit much ... maybe it was just chance it was one?

I feel it is a shame that all the beasties I have so far encountered have been 'fighter-bait'. I don't know how Clerics are for combat, but having seen Mages and Thieves in action and peeked in to see Fighters, it would seem that any beastie for a level over 50% of a Thiefs (I'm 15th, thus from a Abizoah up) offer a heck of a challenge in physical combat.
