I suggest that we are allowed to carry more than 1 weapon! Either that or stop the weapon breaking.
If you lose your weapon whilst fighting a monster with alot of hitpoints (>2000), then you are left with a very long battle that you will almost certainly lose. Infact if your weapon breaks, the system may as well call it a loss and not bother with the rest of the battle. It seems that fists attacks always do the same amount of damage and don't level up.

I think you could still score a critical hit or limit break with your fists, and that's also why you should keep a special attack handy.

Yes but criticals don't happen very often at all.
My special attack is my main weapon (I believe Ninja's are meant to be good at using the MA attacks). But to be honest they only hit about 33% of the time. When fully-healed I can perform 11 Neck-chops. And I don't think I've ever been fully-healed. The Weapon is the only reliable "weapon" as it does OK damage and has a decent chance to hit. |

when your magic attacks hit do you do appreciably more damage? I don't even bother with them anymore. I'm a level 21 fighter, usually do 250 to 300 HP damage with my mace. My MA is weak and almost never hits.

Ok I'm a level 22 Human Ninja.
Attack: 550 Defense: 440 Magic Attack: 264 Magic Defense: 264 Speed: 440 Evade: 528 HP: 1370 MA: 350 Here is how I fare vs Behemoth: Long Sword: about 125 damage Neck-Chop: about 450 damage Fists: about 45 damage I just battled one to confirm these values. I attempted 5 Neck-Chops and only 1 of them hit. I only started with 300 HP and was about to die, but then I got a lucky critical and won me the battle. |

I can't find it now, but Rich hinted that there is another stat the helps your hit percentage. If I had to guess, I'd say try changing your element to match (or be opposite from?) the monster's and see if that helps.
