There seems to be some factor in perfect fights that's not based on defense. I have 15 dk defense now, and 8 defense from charms. Still, at level 1, even with salamander, I get way way way too many non-perfect fights. I mean, 1/2. Can lose 20 forest fights going from level 1 to 2. Then as soon as I get a good armor, it stops. The extra armor doesn't add enough defense - I've kept track of this for around 10 dks. The defense added shouldn't be enough to suddenly stop me from losing perfect fights.

Also, for some reason, level 1/2 monsters have too much HP. When I started, they had like 10, now they have upwards of 100 usually. 100 extra after 60 dks on a level 15 can be expected, but a 1000% percent increase in hp is too much.

Also, it seems that permanent hp and increase of other things' hp isn't really right. It just isn't proportionate. For example, I have a bit less than 1000 permanent hp points, yet the guardians have gone from their measly beginner values to around 70k. Is it supposed to get increasingly impossible to do certain tasks, even with huge buffs, as you go forward?

Just pointing out some things I deem to be instabilities.

    Edit:
You have encountered Small Bat which lunges at you with Slightly venomous fangs!

    Level: 2

    Start of round:
    Small Bat's Hitpoints: 241
    YOUR Hitpoints: 881
I'm not saying it's a problem to kill, but it takes far too long for a level 2 mob.

I thought the defense value you had was your riposting ability? - not whether you got hit or not.
Perfect fights - are they not determined by who gets the first hit in and how much you hit them for based on your attack power?

Normal forest fighting, I don't have a problem with.
But, I suspect the level 10 baddy has been tweaked recently.
I agree with this bit of yours gimp.
    Code:
Is it supposed to get increasingly impossible to do certain tasks, even with huge buffs, as you go forward?
Eventually, we will not be able to play anymore.

Well how far do you take this? I mean, what fun would the game be if all you kept doing was gaining dks and it never got any harder. The game is configured to gradually get harder the higher you get, but do we stop at some point and say "this is the hardest it should get"? If so, then the game will zenith and begin to get easier, as you still increase your power.

What do you guys think? Should we make it stop getting harder? Or do you see who can get the farthest, and then we reset the game and start anew?

No, don't make it stop getting harder. But the scale at which it gets harder is a little out of balance.

See who can get the farthest, and then we'll just quit / create a different account. No resets necessary. It would just be fun if we could get huge benefits as well - for example, God requirement (that's only like 30 dks) for, say, getting a new spell, or 5:10 requirement for, say, getting a buff because of your maxed out weapon. The problem I see is that as it becomes harder and harder there's less to gain. I mean, what if for every dk you could keep 100 gold right in the bank? Or, for every dk, your withdraw from castle cap became bigger, or you got a larger vault? And an hp cap on some monsters would help because you must agree it's a bit too high. And one of my annoyances is that the doppleganger's hp is based on the person fighting and not on the person it's mimicing. I just have that problem when the doppleganger takes my form and it has 1.5x my hp - it's supposed to be the same as me! Though it would be interesting the the doppleganger could use skills just like we can. Sorry, rant.

Though just for the record, some games have resets every so often, and whoever gets farthest in that time is "Battle master" or something. Top ten list and so on. It could work but it'd require a major redesign.

Wow, wow, wow! Hold the phone folks - I wasn't complaining.
    I don't think there's a problem for at least another 150-200 dks.
I agree with gimp on one thing, we shouldn't reset the stats - what I'm doing here I hope stays. What's the point in having done it in the first place if it's just gonna be wiped out?
I disagree with gimp on the limiting the baddies hitpoints - one of the things about this game is that I think it was designed so that people could fight each other relatively quickly on joining the game. What I mean is this - gimp and I could fire off into the distant future Re: hitpoints, no one could fight us - but, the fact that the baddies are related to us in HP means we should keep our HP down, not try and make it super high. The reason I have trouble with some baddies is because I've run out of my speciality. How much speciality and how many hitpoints are the thing that determine how difficult your baddy is going to be - or at least that what it seems to be to me.

gimp, I don't think you've done a lot in the game but level up.
Try having a go at other bits of the game - there are more stats to chase than the ones you've been concentrating on.
    Once I've got a (5.10), that's what I'll be doing.
I'm just settling in for the long haul.

What do you mean? I'm growing my triceratops, I did the elvish quest, did a few of cederik's, made a castle, contribute money to mine and yours and foxache's and to the clan vault, I'm active in the clan, I told the clan how to take pyramids, I'm working on getting my alignment positive by milking level 15, I'm at 5:6 and going strong, I got some tattoos, I'm trying for charm but it's just not happening, I pk others occasionally... what am I missing?

Are you running anything on your system that would be messing with your cookies? Or maybe a firewall of some sort? The game relies on php sessions to identify you from screen to screen, and if something is killing your cookies or keeping that information from being transferred, then you're gonna be SOL.

I've been having the same "logout" troubles, too. It has been much worse lately and nothing has changed on any of the systems that I tend to play from.

I've had it happen a couple of times, but it's not a biggy for me.

@gimp - credit where credit's due - you did uncover the method for taking the pyramids.

Meh. Simple matter of backwards-analysis. Other people do it obviously, though I'm not sure many of them know what they're doing doesn't work for those higher up.

I run firefox use tabed browsing, but I do NOT have more then ONE tab open linking to devshed, so unless another site I go to is messing with your sessions (they shouldn't be0 I don't think that is the problem.

Also when I hit the timeout thing here is how it works.

I click almost any link, it times me out, I click log in then resume link, I"m back in the village or whatever, now WITHOUT clicking any other sites in my browser or anything, I click the same link again, it times me out again, I log in again and repeat I've had this happen like 3 or 4 times in a row.
