I think this Dev Shed Battle Arena forum belongs in the same section as the Lounge and Outhouse, much easier to find in my opinion. I HATES SCROLLIN', HATE IT.

    Suggestions:

Stop the breaking. If I wanted to give up my punch, I'd sell it.

First one to strike in battle will be:
The higher of Player Spd +/- (random(50%)) and Monster Spd +/- (random(50%)).

Because the monsters would have a better shot of going first, (and of going first in general) any creature that dies in the first half of battle will not be alive to hit in the second half of battle.

Stop the breaking. If I wanted to give up my short sword, I'd sell it.

Allow players to have one of each item.

Allow classes to learn their own spells automatically as they level.

Stop the breaking. If I wanted to give up my leather armor, I'd sell it.

Specials aren't very special if they only land 1 time out of 5. You're already making a trade-off by sacc'ing MP.

Block command. Allow damage to be absorbed and applied to limit.

Stop the breaking. If I wanted to go back to level 1, I'd create a new character.

Give monsters items to drop! Bigger the monster, the better the drop. That'd surely get people off of ghostie's butt.

12 round battles for 300 xp <<<<<<<< 12 1 round battles for 45 xp. Rebalance the xp for higher creatures.

I think that's it for now.

    P.S.

    Stop the breaking.

The 'Your stats' link on the battle arena page should point to rpgcp.php instead of the battle.php?do=showuserstats.

Anyone think that the 'Heavens Tears' should come down a bit in price ? 15,000 Devs is a bit much don't you think ? Having your power restored fully during a fight could be invaluable.

Why is there a huge gap between Behemoth and the Machina Soldier as far as HP goes? We're talking 1100 to 3048 for an extra 25 experience points? And I don't see the Machina Soldier giving out extra devs or anything.

    I'm just asking.

Guelph brought this up on the Postcount ++ thread, but when you challenge a user how about setting a minimum move time that says you have to make a move in x amount of time or else you lose the fight. Been in a couple of fights lately that have been dragging on for a wee bit too long and it stops me kicking some monster arse!

Good idea but instead of "auto lose" I think it should be "auto draw". My reasoning is, if you are called away to some sh1te meeting in the middle of a battle you shouldnt get punished more then you already are

I disagree there as it would be too easy to abuse. E.g. if someone is losing a fight they could just leave their computer and walk away with a draw.

How about after 5 or 10 minutes of no activity, the other player gets a free hit with their weapon/fists - maybe even a critical?

I don't think it would be good to penalise a player more than that, e.g. by taking exp points. There are valid reasons, however rare, that someone might not be able to make a move (power cut, house on fire, escaped wilderbeast etc).

This Exp sucking thing is ridiculous.

I just lost over 4000 exp and 2 or 3 battles later I lost another 4018 exp. As I'm a non-fighter it takes me a looong time to build up exp.

If we have to put up with this, then at least there should be more intelligence to make sure it doesn't happen too often, please.

How about adding an option to retreat from battle when it isn't your turn? It would be particularly useful when you're stuck in a battle that seemingly has no end in sight!
