Theory I need help testing.
I just had a munmar make me forget my backhand attack. I was just grateful he didn't break my sword, especially since I haven't used a special attack since before level 10 as my sword is now stronger/more reliable. That gave me a thought. I wonder if the trigger that makes them make you forget a spell is the same trigger that makes them break a weapon. If that's the case, it might be worthwhile to keep the cheap special attack equipped just to protect the weapon.
Unfortunately, there's no good way to verify this without fighting more battle than I can do alone. But I could perhaps disprove it a little quicker. So here's the deal- has anyone had a monster break their weapon when they also had a special attack or spell equipped?

Not to my knowledge, but I did become 'unequipped' once, and it was time for exit stage left.
I think their 'angriness' is fired at certain times of the day, but that could just be a function of more users at certain times
