A cheap/free option for POS

Hi

I have been running a business for the last two years. Now the transactions are getting too much to be handled by my current manual system where I have different registers for sales, inventory,expenses,wholesale,credit etc etc.

I want to shift this to a software now so I can see some pretty graphical reports as well and make it organized. But the softwares I found so far are not exactly up to my expectations for example INTUIT Quickbooks POS. it does give me big troubles when I try to enter old dates sales and am lost how will I shift my old data to this software.

I do not want web based software for many good privacy reasons.

I was wondering if anybody has been using a POS software which is cheap if not free but a complete solution where I can enter daily sales, layaways, manage CRM, inventory and see reports.
