I dont get it. They will donate a dollar if you say you'll have dinner with your family on the 3rd? Seriously? Wonder if they get millions of clicks if they'll be able to follow through.

They said up to $100k, so I guess they'll be donating $100k on the 3rd - unless they only put up that notice today.
Depends how many hits they get - I don't suppose it's big at all. Today probably peaked for them ![]()

I didn't even give any thought to it at all for it to be spam.

I believe the OP didnt know it either. Its just a clever marketing plot. A very immoral one IMHO. They should spend the money for charity and make a press release about it. This is the normal way. But getting people like the OP to send visitors to their site because they think a click could help anybody... ![]() M. |

At the end there are only so many dollars one can give. I could give a dollar to everyone who asked me for money daily which would only be about $500 a week in charitable contributions.
Instead, though, I channel most of my charity dollars into MS research because that's the cause that hits the proverbial nerve for me, seeing people personally afflicted by it. I care a lot about this cause, yet I do not solicit the support of others on message forums.

Fair enough. If this is your definition of SPAM, then I will agree with you. The way I see it, however, is that they were going to donate the money regardless, so why not make people feel like they are helping. True, technically, I will be doing nothing, since I have dinner with my family every night, but it will still feel a little better that night now. Or maybe it's beacuse this is my 'Close to home' cause... |

This is just a good cause that I found. I'm sure in a way it promotes M&M Meats (which is a Canadian chain of stores that carries pre-made meals), but the whole focus here is a good cause. It would be great to have lots of people participate, and lots of money donated to a good cause.

I suffered from a near death case of ulcerative colitis (at over 6ft tall I dropped down to a weight of 84lbs). The foundation M&M is donating to is worthless, trust me. For such an incurable disease one would never know I had it - I merely went on a program called The Maker's Diet and it changed everything. Modern medicine (prednizone, yikes) and about a dozen supposed alternative treatments didn't do a hill of beans for me. People like me who have (or like me who "had") truly severe, life threatening, cases of colitis or crohns disease have no use for foundations such as that. I admire their cause, but they are looking for treatments and cures in the wrong place.

One thing I've noticed is this:
My wife and I have always gone on Parasite and Body clense programs (no fat, no sugar, raw fruits and Vegi's, fish, brown rice, steamed chiceken etc) for 12 days. At the end we feel so healthy and have lost a good chunk of weight (we're not fat, but boy we can get skinny). Old clenses, and remedies that the Natives, Chinese, Aztecs had way long ago still work well today and help so much. Sometimes you don't need medicine, you just need to change your eating habits and take 10 different types of roots + seeds + leaves + oils and 1 big 12 oz. MR steak... |

Just to make the point clear, I am in no way affiliated with M&M Meats. Sure, I shop there once in a while, but as a colitis sufferer I'm trying to help out in every way I can to support the CCFC, and the search for a cure. You're not obligated to buy anything, and while I'm sure it does promote M&M, I'm sure not many of you are in Canada, so my post doesn't help them a lot.
All I am looking for is a way to find a cure for Chron's and Colitis. The CCFC advertises the National Family Dinner Night right on its home page with the same link I posted. Here is the CCFC link: ccfc.ca It would be great to see as many people support this as possible. Jeff |
