I find it very interesting too.
I work for a newspaper publisher, with over 158 publications, and we use a commercial cms product. I can't name names, or costs, but I can tell you that I love seeing articles written by groups like OSCOM. Most parts of the article ring very true. For the price we're paying, I'm glad I didn't have to sign the cheque to get what boils down to some reasonable hosting, and a fancy relational database.
