Anyone here play Planetside?

If so, what server and empire? Damn I love that game...

I played as the Vanu Sovereignty in the beta, but didn't get the real game b/c I didn't want to pay the fee (I'm a poor college student) and because I'd spend way too much time on it (I should be a studying college student) You're right though. That game fscking rocks.

I was in the beta, but didn't pick up the game. It seemed fun, but without a dedicated group of people to play with it was hard trying to team up with random people. Also there were balance issues that they were ironing out at the end of the beta regarding how experience worked and the game basically become a 'juggle the base' scenario where roving squads would just capture a base and move on and then leave it to capture another one without playing defense. At the end they introduced a matrix style way of capturing which solved this, but I'm not sure. I just never got back into it when the game went gold. I'm starting to hear a lot of good things from people again about it, but I'm not sure about MMO games, I'm already pretty much addicted to gaming without having persistent worlds to deal with. If I do break down and pick it up I'll look u up.

Was this beta like really easy to get into or something? I was in it too. The beta I REALLY wanted was FFXI..but thats another story. I got bored of the game very quickly. Once the novelty of driving new things wore off, I was gone

It was easy to get into if you had a FilePlanet account, or a good computer. Everyone who had an account got the beta, and they gave keys to a lot of people if you met their hardware requirements.

AH that musta been it. My comp was cutting edge at the time. Actually I sent them the specs for a comp I was ordering and didn't have yet.

But noone's paying it now... LOL
