becoming a "mod"?
Does anyone know where I can find info on becoming a moderater at the PHP board? Is it possible? Lately I have seen a lot of posts there that make me wanna be one. Thanks!

Thanks, but I already knew that. But sometimes I see a post that belongs in a specific forum (instead of PHP) that never gets moved or removed.

Al would make the ideal candidate with his time difference. Me and Sep are on the same time zone, while were sleeping, Al is browsing the boards.

For the most part, the forum is pretty orginized tho - although there has been a rash of horrible post subjects lately.

A funny thing is that if you browse some other PHP forums, there is no orginization what so ever. Not nameing no forums or community, but one comes to mind - (won't name no names) -> 8 mods in the PHP forum with only about 5 new threads a day and still having probs keeping up with the posts.

Do any of you guys know a PHP community forum more polished than this one?

Phpbuilder is can't even be compared with that mess... webhostingtalk is way off too...zend is to small... Sitepoint is probably the closest one, although they aren't all that nice... is that it? No more board in the whole net for php? pathetic...

Well put Al I agree that Devshed is the most polised, sitepoint was the closest, but I find this place more interesting, useful and fun

You guys have made some very good points as to reasons not to become a mod. I was crazy to think that I could become one, but I guess I just dont like not having any control over it .

Lol, didn't want to name no names, but yes.

You know, those guys have a descent thing going in general. The only problem is there site advertisements are way out of line, and 95% of thier articles or tutorials are not good enough for more experienced programmers like alot of the members here in our community ->Al, Onslaught, rycamor, Rod, Silky <- to name a few. I pop in there and post every once and a while just to answer a question here and there, to carry my signature line on a project we currently have in development, and to pop a link in here and there pointing to our community here (a little creative marketing for devshed, lol).....
