OK, I've found what could be described as the "perfect job" for myself. The catch is, the employer is listed as 'confidential' and all I'm given is an email address. What is the proper way to go about this -- should I attach my resume to the email and write my cover letter in the body of the letter itself, should I attach both, or should I let the employer know that my resume is available upon their request?
This is the first job I've had to apply to over the Internet, so I'm quite clueless on the subject. If anyone has done this and can help me, I'd greatly appreciate it.

If there's no requirements or protocol posted I'd go with a quick highlight of your best points of the cover letter/resume and have the cover letter and resume attached. Try and include something specific about the job you're applying for (I know you can't say anything about the company itself because it's confidential) just so whoever gets it knows that you've put some extra thought into it instead of just applying for everything that comes up on monster.com . If it's a programming/design job you may want to include links to relevant samples in your email as well.
Actually, the worst ones for me were the ones that asked for salary requirements. HTH, -b |

Haha yeah, I took that outta my email signature. That's purely message-board material now.
