Career Day?

I am hosting a career day for some kids that are interested in web development. My job is a blast for me, but I worry that it might be boring for a few 14 year-olds to watch.

My thoughts are to take them around to the different departments (I work at a hosting company) and then take them home to work on a group web design project.

Have any of you done this before or does anyone have any ideas?

I have never done this kind of thing myself, but when I was younger I once participated in something similar.

Just make sure the group project is something they will enjoy and not what you will enjoy, do a bit of research about whats hip with 14 year olds and perhaps give them the option for what will be the *topic* of the group project.

As for the touring, I would have loved to been taken around a hosting office when I was 14 so I think that part of it will be fine.

My only problem with group assignments is that one person usually does all the work, and the others not - these assignments are mostly completed because they have to and not that they want to .

I would rather stick to showing them what they can do and all other neat things . . . that's most interesting

Would have been nice to go on such a tour, can I come ??

My opinion
