I am taking only two TR night classes this semester:

1) German
2) Comp. Sci. <--- The first "computer" class I have ever taken in my schooling life.

I took an adult ed class in German for the reason you say Vlince- it just sounds cool I've also taken a semester of Chinese (Mandarin) for the same reason (plus it looks cool too).

Ich liebe die Deutsche Sprache, aber nie lerne ich wohl sie. Ich hatte drei Jahre in der Gymnasium und andere drei Jahre in der Uni, aber sie warren die "gleiche" drei Jahre.

thats scary..i did german a few years ago at secondary school and i think i still remember enough to understand what you just typed, icrf.

lets see how much i remember:

you like speaking german, however you suggest not learning it. You did three years at School (?) and another three years at uni, however they were not a good three years.

Is that close? Do i still know some german or am i WAY off the mark?

Here's what I was aiming for (don't know how close I got ):

"I love the German language, but I never learned it well. I had three years in high school and another three years at the university, but they were the "same" three years."

I retook beginning German in college, so the first two were dumb easy. I learned stuff in my final college year, but I was spending way more time and effort in that class than most everything else I was taking combined, so I didn't go on after it.

German's fun. I like the sound of it. Enjoy speaking it. It has a nice, logical, rigid grammar that I really love, I just don't have the memory to remember enough vocabulary to get anywhere.

rkelly- do labs count for your number of credit hours taken? Just wondering, because they don't for us. I'm taking 15 credit hours, but with labs I'm in class 22 hours/week

"Java I for Business" starts tonight. Same prof I had XML with - Linux user, likes Apache (but we fiddled with Win32 Xerces and couldn't get it working), pretty cool guy. I surfed the web all through his classes, didn't attend half of them because he just graded everyone on their final XML project. "A" for me! I'm hoping this goes the same. Since I'm already reasonably familiar with the Java basics, I figure I'll just hit Sun's online tutorial and some reference books the night before the final is due.

"Intermediate Database Mangement" starts next Wednesday - idiotic "prereq class" I'm not allowed to skip. Basically "Access For Idiots". I believe I'll be having a few tiffs with the prof. in this one if they try to pass Access off as something someone might actually WANT to use....
