Convert Powerpoint Show

Greetings ~

Am seeking free/shareware that will convert a PowerPoint (2002/XP) show into '.mpg' (MPEG 1 layer 2) format.

Anyone know of such?? Please advise. Thanks!

Bruce G.F. Krymow

I have found program to convert to JPEG, from there you can convert to MPEG.

Powerpoint Search: http://www.freewareseek.com/search....soft+powerpoint

Result: http://www.freewareseek.com/business/118/

Jpeg=>Mpeg http://www.freewareseek.com/search....rt+jpeg+to+mpeg

Try and find one in there that can do it.

I doubt you will find program to directly convert.

Hi, koepke ~

Thanks for your reply.

I need to mantain the integrity of the transitions which are in part animated - JPEG won't support that.

The best way to do it would be to output it as a video signal (most graphics cards have video out) and then connect that to a video capture card on another machine. That will give you the best quality and also maintain the integrity of all transitions and animations.

Another program I just found is CaputrePad. What this does is make a recording of what is happening on the computer. That is what you need to do. You won't be able to convert the file directly.

Hi, koepke ~

Thank you for your efforts.

I understand that I may not be able to do a direct conversion and that is fine. If I can convert it from one format to another and another, etc. with the ned result being MPG, that surely would be fine.

I have some IT savvy, but no experience whatso ever w/ video files and not much in Powerpoint.

I am d/l CapturePad as that seems like a great step in that direction. If I get the PPS to AVI, then I can convert to MPG (mpeg1 layer2)??

Yeah, that would be the best way of doing things. TMPGEnc is what I use for MPEG compression http://www.tmpgenc.net/e_download.html

Okay, I guess I am spoiled on Office V.x for mac, because we can save our presentation as a Quicktime movie and then use Quicktime Pro to convert to anything we want.

Hi, kfickert ~

By your post are you suggesting I convert the PPS to MOV w/ QTp6? If so, How is that done and how would I then convert it from MOV to MPG?
