Damn we rock

4 million people (less than half the population of London) and we still manage to rack up 10 gold medals in the olympics. Go Norway!

(I hope you see this NoXcuz, your name is *so* spot on )

Thing is, there isn't much snow to practice on in London and half the population of London probably don't know what skis are never mind know that the Winter Olympics are happening right now (eh? But it's not winter). Not trying to diss the population of London but ask them where the Olympics are and they'll say Greece every time.

After we whipped Canada's *** in the first round of the ice hockey tournament, I felt really good. But then after our last game...

Our set of medals haven't been exactly great...
And, as my name implies, I have no excuse for that...
So I've abandoned all things that's related to the Olympics...

I guess I should congratulate you andnaess on behalf of your country's success in the winter olympics...
BTW, I saw a nice picture on one of your female skiers, don't remember her name though... Too bad that they didn't ski in that outfit...

While it's sunny in Britain we are proud to be crap at winter sports so that we can have something to grumble about. When the weather gets worse we'll be back onto that. It's funny isn't it how some Candian ski jumper comes over and becomes British, and automatically becomes crap. Greg Rusedski syndome!

I think Eddie the Eagle will stand forever as a symbol of the state of English winter sports

NoXcuz: I guess you mean Kari Traa, or rather "Kari uten en tråd"... Those pictures were the best career move she could possibly make, before them I hadn't heard of her, now she's a star.

Sends out a nice signal to other girls trying to succeed eh?

Eddie the Eagle, ahh those were the days. The Sport Governing body over here banned him from competing the second time around because he would bring shame to the British Public. I guess they didn't realise that the Brits and everyone else admired a man who couldn't see more than a foot in front of him strapping two planks to his feet and lobbing himself 65m off an ice chute. That takes guts!

Can't imagine many English winter olympics lasses looking that good. Mind you, get some from the North East (Newcastle Sunderland etc) and they wouldn't be wearing much more than a short skirt and a bra to do the luge in as long as there's plenty of alcohol at the bottom.

Andnaess - yeah, she looked pretty good . Had a big 'article' about her in an evening paper in Sweden... Seems like she could actually ski too...

And skiing in Wales... Yeah, why bother with the hazzle of doing that outside in the country, when you can stay indoors...
