Presumably because they can't sell their banner space to anyone else. The banner ad market is in a dire state as advertisers have realised that the things simply don't work. Right now it's hard to give the things away on most sites.
Moral of the story: if you're going to start a site that relies on banner ads for its main revenue, don't.

They use DoubleClick though... all the sites with a lot of hits (at least 10 000 a day I think) use doubleclick. And a lot of people use it too.

10,000 hits a day isn't a lot. 10,000 unique vistors maybe. Anywho, they turned down my offer to buy every ad space on their site for 6 paper clips and a half eaten snickers bar.

We use Winstar Interactive as our ad agency... they have been going through some troubles lately and were bought out by another agency.
Their e-mail address may have changed. I'll have to look into this.
Thanks for the heads-up.
