Devshed.com
Wow. . . This site is quite cool, and almost compleatly spacific to computer topics. I love it. . . Except several things.
Dont get me wrong the site is awsome, but there are several things I think you should adress: 1. The name I wanted to use was compSciDude21001 so it would match my AIM and Yahoo ID. I could only fist compSciDude2100. . . what ever happened to unrestricted string length. 2. When I regestered, on the first try, my passwords dident match. When i went back I had to fill out the entire form all over again. You really should look into rembering the data, and only making the new user reenter incorect data. 3. There is no forum, this is the closest, for this kind of discussion, no place for feedback. If you really want people to like the site, then give them a place to tell you what they do and dont like. Now once again, dont get me wrong, the site is great, and I look forward to using it to get help and to help others. Frank Last edited by CompSciDude2100 : January 24th, 2003 at 09:20 PM. |

Um, this is the forum - and this is where you would post your feedback as this is the forum that is controlled by Zeus and Randy ( well, they controll all of them - but this is the one they frequent and answer feedback ). As far as the forum software goes, the forum is designed by vBulletin, so they would be the ones to address for the form rememberance issue.Anyways, welcome to the community. If you develop open source applications, this community is where you want to be as we are one (#1 in PHP) of the most active and highly respected development forums/communities on the internet. BTW: Where are you at in TERP'ville (MD) - one of the greatest States in the Union...

We use VBulletin - I'll check to see if they are planning a way to use longer names for their next version. Quote:
Ouch... I'll check on that. Quote:

for #2, they changed behaviour of forms with IE6. but iirc there is a <meta> tag that you can supply to keep the data anyway.
