Devshed haX0rs
when I click here, it shows that the last person to post on the security forum was chr15t0,
but when I click here all I see is an announcement from the mod squad. I have also noticed that posts can somtimes just vanish - didn't that Algorithms forum used to have a lot more threads in it !? hmmmm christo

I found that the select box at the bottom of the page was defaulting to show posts from the last day - rather than from the beginning lol |

Well, another problem is that some threads seem to get bumped by themselves without anyone replying. Unless someone posted and then delete though... but in that case shouldn't thread get 'old' reply date and go back to archive?

I noticed when a thread has a poll in it, it gets bumped every time somebody votes and the little icon lights up like there is a new post. Could be your problem as well AlCapone? It was really confusing for me at first. I thought I was seeing into the future of what people would post! Hehe

Hmmm... hasn't occured to me But yeah I guess that's it. Another question is why anyone in their sound mind would vote in long time dead thread... |

I agree that voting on a dead poll is a bit pointless, but sometimes a search on the forums can reveal a thread that just hits the nail on the head and could save a week's worth of dialogue.. and reviving them for more imput is just the right thing to do.. especially seeing as we are always telling people to search the forums first on commonly discussed topix </USD0.02> christo |

I will agree as long as it is relevant. A lot of people who do this don't fall into this category.
Either what would serve as a good new topic or it is a pointless comment to a dead topic. |

Hmmmmm.... I'm still thinking about this thread-bumping-on-voting thingy...
I'm sitting here, looking at the forums and lounge icon highlights telling me there's a new post by hero. So I go in there, and I see that my reply is the last one and it's in that poll thread. What gives? Hero voted in the poll thread. And since I remember # of votes, I can pretty certainly say he voted 'yes'. Doesn't that sort of go against privacy policy or something? Or am I just getting this the wrong way? BTW, Hero, did you vote at all? |

To add to the mystery, no, I didn't vote.

yeah Al, this is daft - I have just had to go back and edit some posts to fix urls which point to other posts... bah!

Both forms of urls work. Don't bother editing them. Thanks for trying though.
