devshed... slowdown?
is it just me, or does the forum seem to crawl of late? i'm on a t1 @ work, and cable @ home, and devshed feels like i'm back to 56k dialup.
whats going on? lack of server resources? or, am i experiencing the oft mentioned 'performance cap' that naysayers site when bashing php/mysql for large websites? admins, can you shed some light on this for us? is it just me, or has anyone else noticed slowness @ the 'shed?

Been like that for about 24 hours for me. Though late at night it had gotten better for a while, sometime around midnight pacific time. Now, it's back to clicking on a link, then surfing another site as I wait for the thread to load.

We've had some serious load problems over the last day or so, but we've now added another server into the backend pool and that seems to have solved the problem for now.
Thanks for your concern and sorry for any inconvenience.

Trust me - I'm not complaining. For the value that Devshed offers all of us for free, I'd be willing to take it at 28k speeds... ![]() Thanks again for the awesome site, as well as for taking the time to answer my question. |
