Games? What games? What ARE games?

No, I personally don't like playing games. I'd rather go out and play basketball/football with my friends (or program something smart ) for 2 hours than play silly games...

there's nothing silly about playing games at all. in fact when i get stuck on my work, i play some games to take my mind off it for a while. it helps to get the creative juices flowing ... i even play games at work sometimes, and my boss's dont mind one bit.

I even partially agree with you, but I still don't like playing games . I don't know why, but it just seems like a waste of precious time...

Games develop all sorts of skills depending on the type, you have to choose it.


A Q&D list

Kids fight togheter and they find that funny! It helps them develop motor skills. When we grow older we burn testorone with FPS (ut, quake, etc)

Chess develops strategic skills and a good dose of math is needed. This can be applied to RTS games also (*craft, aoe, etc).

Card games consists mainly of memory and deduction. Even psychology! When playing poker you have to guess wether you're oponent is lying throught his teeth of really screwed.

So I don't believe that games are a waste of time, it proves your superiority aswell and gives you a better self-esteem.

well, I'm old school...

my favorite games are C&C: Red Alert, Rainbow 6: Rouge Spear, SimCity2000, and Quake ]|[ Arena...

and I'm in the process of trying to find an old copy of 'Zork' out there somewhere...

{edit} whoa... now that I reread this, I think I'm like the posterchild for User Friendly...

hehe - some where i have a copy of zork and its sequels..

C&C isn't really old skool... arg... im not old, im only 19, and i can remember playing C&C, in fact every now and then i get it out of its old box and play it a little...

But i absolutley lurve Theif & Theif 2... two absolutly amazing and stunning games.. deus ex is also on a par.. personally i do like Black and White.. no it wasn't as good as it was hyped, but what game ever is??????????

Dungeon Keeer kicks ***.. Angband, ZAnangbad also rule!

As for online games

Anarchy Online... STUNNING.. it one PC Gamer MMORPG of the year.. from dodgy beginnings to a stunning game.. i've played from 1 month before main story line started.. so i know how much improvement hsa been made... This is my character:

Well... games can be good.. get out aggggression, excersise the mind (depending on the gametype) MMORPGS and oher online games can bring together people from all over the world!

But games should never be everything you do.. get out make friends you can see, start relationships have fun.. get some excersise and so on and so fourth..

Only multyplayer games. I just hate the single player, the only way to make it hard is to use what you don't know against u.

The only single player game i've ever played is Thief Gold.
I think that game teaches your something you'll find useful in any other game.

I play Starcraft, Delta Force, Half-life, (don't like ages of empires 1 or 2), Diablo, WarCraft 3 (1,2 are crap).

no pc games
no pc games_only console_currently only ps2

never liked the feel of pc games

even with console systems_very picky_only like approx 10% of the games I try


other games of interest: aggravating people, table tennis, board games.............
