ever had this prob with your mobo?
I had an old mobo from '95 but the bios crapped out on me. I got another compatible mobo but it keeps reading my processor at 166 instead of 200. Any ideas? It's a Gateway Lawman if that helps out. Thanks.

Older motherboards sometimes have a small block of switches with which you change around between on and off to make the motherboard recognise the correct CPU setting. Try getting the serial numbers off your board and searching for the manual on the net, most of them are still available. You should then be able to read up on it.

Also, it might not matter what your BIOS thinks of your CPU, it can still run @ 200 MHz. It's just that the BIOS don't recognize CPU's faster than 166 MHz, it's too old for that, so it thinks it is a 166...
Though a BIOS update might be available somewhere. //NoXcuz
